CUCCULELLI
“I was born in the City of Buenos Aires in 1950. My teacher was my friend Carlos María Odriozola, a born artist, sculptor, a bit bohemian, who learned the job from luthier Joaquín García. I started copying Joaquín's guitars, making instruments as a hobby.
In the 1980s, flutist Alberto Devoto went to my father's cabinetmaking workshop, where I worked, and he saw my guitars by chance. I had accumulated quite a few and he suggested that I sell them to his guitarist friends, but it was very difficult for me to part with my instruments. I made the decision to start selling them thanks to a priest's sermon that I also heard by chance. The moral was: 'One is the owner of what he gives away and a slave of what he keeps.'
Our work is for music, music is for art, and art is to raise people's sensitivity and conscience. Since then I have built various models of guitars always trying to produce quality”.
